Melissa Henderson, Host E-West, with Bullfrog

The series Entertainment West is an integral community informational source about entertainment and the arts in central Canada. With its prairie perspective, both young and old audiences can relate to its up close, personal and educational approach to the arts and cultural community.

Entertainment West informs the audience of what they can expect when attending local and regional events. This is done from the perspective of energetic local hosts that relate to both the contemporary and nostalgic music and entertainment scene.

During extensive research for the series, it was established that there is a prominent void in the presentation of musical, artistic, cultural, and entertaining events from central Canada. The outpouring of support from artists, event coordinators, local venues and the general public has identified to the producers the need for this kind of programming.

The weekly half -hour format of effectively edited segments showcases for the viewer what central Canada offers in terms of an entertainment escape. The show offers live performances and candid personal interviews. With its regional voice and cast of enthusiastic hosts, Entertainment West is poised to become a long running series. It is a fun, fast paced, informative and entertaining platform for our vibrant entertainment industry.

The series, currently airing it’s third season, airs on SCN (Saskatchewan Communications Network). The shows have included interviews with Nickleback, Wide Mouth Mason, Our Lady Peace, Jacksoul, K-OS, Deana Carter, Beverley Mahood, Wynona Judd, Blue Rodeo, 50 Cent, Matt Dusk and Tom Cochrane as well as several local Saskatchewan entertainers such as Megan Lane, Mobadass, Brad Johner and Jordan Cook.

Entertainment West, the prairies answer to relevant entertainment news and information, is becoming a voice in regional television and a “Flagship” series on SCN.

Entertainment West's viewing audience has grown nation-wide, (reaching 1.3 million potential viewers across Canada and 300,000 potential viewers in Saskatchewan alone), as SCN can now be viewed on the following networks; channel 266 on ExpressVu, channel 352 on Star Choice, channel 19 on SaskTel Max, and channel 28 on Image Wireless.
